Who is Manon Dupé?
The first women’s season of parawing racing belongs to Manon Dupé. Reported as 16 in a March 2026 Guadeloupe La 1ère portrait, she comes out of the Guadeloupe wingfoil scene: double French wingfoil vice-champion, sport-études student, training at La Saline with the ANASA Sainte-Anne club under coach Sébastien Thébaud. Context for the Leucate win: the women’s fleet was 9 riders against 30 men, per the event coverage. Small fleet, yes, but also the first sanctioned parawing world cup ever held, with the format built as it went: “the sport evolving live,” per the SFT, including an open rider-feedback session that shaped the rulebook. The Leucate stage also showed the discipline “performs in lighter wind conditions” than most expected (SFT recap). Keep that in mind before assuming racing needs 25 knots.
One caveat on scale: this sport is barely professionalized yet. The Cabarete stage that followed carried a total prize purse of $3,000 (per SFT/event press), a tenth of what SFT’s e-foil event in Shenzhen offered. Dupé leads a discipline that is still being built under her.
