Bear off slightly and build board speed before you start the turn. The foil, not the wing, carries you through the deepest downwind point, so momentum at entry is your whole budget.
For a toe-to-heel jibe from normal stance, roll pressure onto your toes and commit to a constant-radius arc. Keep the foil at a constant flying height: no climbing, no touching down.
Turn the bar so the canopy changes direction and stays ahead of you through the arc. The wing follows bar input across the window; there is no hand-over-hand flip like a wingfoil jibe.
As the board comes through dead downwind onto the new reach, sheet in and let the canopy load up again. Exit slightly higher than dead downwind so the lines stay tensioned.
Ride out one-handed on the old steering hand first. Once the wing is pulling on the new tack, bring the new front hand onto the bar, release the old one, then switch feet in one fluid shuffle, or stay switch and ride toeside.

Land practice helps more than people expect. Ground-fly the wing and rehearse the steering input and the hand-change standing still before you spend water time on it.
Two reasons, and they cut in opposite directions.
The wing work is simpler. In a wingfoil jibe you flip the wing overhead and re-grip two handles under load. On a parawing you turn the bar and the canopy re-positions itself across the window. Per the Duotone Academy method demonstrated by Finn Spencer (video), most riders steer one-handed through the whole turn precisely so they can concentrate on foiling, and changing hands mid-turn is explicitly noted as making the wing a bit less stable.
The foil work is less forgiving. A parawing pulls horizontally, like a tow rope, and gives you no rigid structure to lean on. Through the middle of the arc the wing is nearly neutral, so the foil is carrying you on stored speed alone. Enter slow and nothing saves you at the deepest downwind point. The subjective rule holds: if the entry feels lazy, the exit will be a touchdown.
Enter on a broad reach with deliberate speed. Initiate by rolling pressure onto your toes (for the standard toe-to-heel jibe from your normal stance) and commit to one radius. Hold two things constant through the arc: turn radius and foil flying height. The Finn Spencer method states this directly, and it matches what I see coaching: almost every blown jibe is a mid-arc change of plan, not a bad entry.
Timing the wing to the carve:
Where in the arc you give the steering input depends on the wing. Short 2–4 m lines mean the canopy responds fast, so the input comes later than kiters expect.
When the wind is light enough that a neutral wing mid-arc means a stall, use the powered banking technique from the Triple Seven camp: push the bar down and away while rotating your wrist into the turn, so the canopy holds a clean airfoil and banks through the jibe instead of going slack. This variant reduces tip collapse and backwinding, and it is the difference between making and sinking marginal-wind jibes. It works best on wings that hold shape when depowered; deep-window single-skins tolerate it less.
This is what separates a clean jibe from a flappy one, and the rule is short: the hand-change happens after the wing is re-powered, never during the carve.

If you ride hooked in, the harness changes nothing about the sequence, but keep the hook line clear of the bar during the hand-change. A snagged line at the exact moment you have one loose hand is how jibes end in the water.
Count your attempts, all of them, including the wet ones. Get to roughly 80% clean jibes before you spend serious time on tacks. That is the gate this progression sets for tack work.
Once your jibes are consistent both ways, the next forks in the learn path are toeside and tacks for angles, and stashing mid-ride for the downwind game the parawing was built for.
No. Unlike a wingfoil jibe, there is no wing flip: you steer the handle and the canopy swings across on its lines. That is why many riders find the parawing jibe mechanically simpler than the wing version: the hard part is the foil carve, not the wing work.
After the wing is re-powered on the new tack, not during the carve. Most riders steer one-handed through the turn and keep that hand until they are stable on the exit; changing hands mid-arc makes the wing input less stable. Some riders simply stay one-handed and ride out switch.
After, for most riders: carve in normal stance, exit switch, then swap feet in one quick shuffle once the wing is pulling again. Switching before the turn (a heel-to-toe entry) also works if your toeside is solid. Either way, drilled switch riding is what makes both options reliable.
The wing handling is easier: no flip, and one-handed steering leaves you free to concentrate on the foil. The foil part is slightly harder, because a parawing gives you no rigid frame to brace against and its pull is a horizontal tow, so you depend entirely on carrying speed through the arc.
Enough that you exit with usable power: the widely cited comfortable band is around 17–23 knots, and steadiness matters more than the number. In marginal wind use the powered-turn variant: bank the wing through the arc instead of letting it go neutral.
